For my first development, i wanted to create a graphic in a way which could be compared to a magazine. I took inspiration from Sagmeister in the way in which i incorporated text features, etching and collaging. I started by editing three originals photographs I had taken, to all be black and white, and removed the faces off of the individuals faces. My intention behind this was to strip the features from them to dig deeper into the inner monologue, to present the inside of a person instead of the outer vessel. After editing these, I printed off and collaged these in a messier way to match the theme of incongruity well. After doing this, i wrote lyrics from sons and quotes i found to match the theme of inner turmoil, ego and disorder. For example, i included the quote “i recognise your false confidence and calculated promises” which i found fit my ideas well because im trying to present the idea of being seen for who you are, not how you present yourself, this is also shown through the quote “YOURE LOOKING AT ME, IM LOOKING THROUGH YOU”.
